Partnerships Manager Jobs in Virginia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a partnerships manager in Virginia?
Most partnerships manager roles in Virginia require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related discipline as a starting point. Virginia does not issue a state license for this role, so hiring decisions center on experience, demonstrated relationship management skills, and industry familiarity. Many Virginia employers, particularly in the federal contracting and technology sectors around Northern Virginia, prioritize candidates who understand government procurement cycles or have worked within regulated industries.
Which companies hire partnerships managers in Virginia?
Employers hiring partnerships managers in Virginia right now include Capital One, Nourish, and Sailor Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Virginia's concentration of federal contractors, defense primes, and large health systems means partnerships roles here frequently involve government agency relationships or multi-organization program coordination.
Which Virginia cities have the most partnerships manager jobs?
McLean, Arlington, and Virginia have the most partnerships manager openings in Virginia right now. Northern Virginia's density of federal agencies, defense contractors, and technology firms drives the bulk of listings, while Richmond's mix of corporate headquarters and health systems and Hampton Roads' military and logistics base account for strong secondary demand outside the D.C. corridor.
Are there remote partnerships manager jobs in Virginia?
Yes, and more than many fields, because partnerships management is largely relationship-driven work conducted through calls, video meetings, and written communication. About 57% of partnerships manager openings tied to Virginia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting broad employer comfort with distributed partnership teams. Strategy, business development, and channel management portions of the role are the most commonly offered remotely.
How can I get hired as a partnerships manager in Virginia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a related role such as account coordinator, business development associate, or program analyst into a junior partnerships position. Large Virginia employers like Booz Allen Hamilton and Inova Health System regularly bring on associate-level business development and strategy staff who grow into partnerships functions. Building a portfolio of cross-functional project work, earning a Certified Partnership Professional credential, or completing a government contracting fundamentals course strengthens a candidate's profile considerably for Virginia's federal-facing market.
Where can I find and apply to partnerships manager jobs in Virginia?
You can find and apply to partnerships manager jobs in Virginia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Virginia openings across industries and experience levels. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
