Data Scientist Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a data scientist job in Dallas?
Focus your search on Dallas's three strongest hiring clusters: financial services firms concentrated along the North Dallas Tollway, health systems and life sciences employers near the Southwestern Medical District, and technology companies headquartered in Uptown and Las Colinas. Candidates who combine Python or R proficiency with domain knowledge in finance or healthcare stand out most in this market. Networking through local data and analytics meetups in Dallas also opens doors that online applications alone won't.
Which companies hire data scientists in Dallas?
Employers hiring data scientists in Dallas right now include Tiger Analytics, PwC, and Deloitte, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas's market draws a wide mix, from global financial institutions and large health systems to mid-size fintechs and regional insurance carriers, all of which maintain in-house data science teams.
Are there remote data scientist jobs in Dallas?
Yes, data science is among the more remote-friendly professional roles because the work is primarily analytical and laptop-based rather than tied to physical equipment or on-site operations. About 10% of data scientist openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting strong flexibility in this field. Modeling, pipeline development, and reporting work tends to be the most remote, while roles involving embedded teams or real-time operations in Dallas offices lean toward hybrid.
How can I get a data scientist job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is targeting analytics or data analyst roles at mid-size companies in financial services or healthcare, then moving laterally into data science once you've built domain context. Dallas-area employers in insurance, banking, and hospital networks regularly hire junior analysts and promote from within. Building a portfolio with projects relevant to those industries, and completing internships through programs at UT Dallas or SMU, gives local hiring managers a concrete reason to take a chance on an early-career candidate.
Which industries hire the most data scientists in Dallas?
Dallas data scientist roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Accounting & Auditing, and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas's position as a major financial services hub, a growing technology corridor, and home to one of the largest medical districts in the country means those sectors consistently generate the highest volume of data science demand in the city.
