Data Analytics Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data analytics manager in Texas?
The typical path starts with a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, or business analytics, often followed by a master's degree for senior roles. Texas does not require a state-issued license to work as a data analytics manager. Most candidates build several years of hands-on analytics experience first, then move into management by leading projects or teams at Texas-based firms in energy, finance, or technology before stepping into a formal manager title.
How much do data analytics managers make in Texas?
Data analytics managers in Texas earn a median of about $122,090 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $64,540 for the lowest 10% to over $170,780 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data analytics managers in Texas?
Employers hiring data analytics managers in Texas right now include Apple, Tiger Analytics, and Deloitte, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters in Dallas and major energy and healthcare operations in Houston means large enterprise employers consistently drive a high share of these openings year-round.
Which Texas cities have the most data analytics manager jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston have the most data analytics manager openings in Texas. Dallas leads because of its dense cluster of financial services firms, corporate headquarters, and technology companies, while Austin's fast-growing tech sector and Houston's energy and medical center industries sustain steady demand across the other major metros.
Are there remote data analytics manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 27% of data analytics manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based and collaboration-tool-driven nature of the work. Strategic and reporting-heavy responsibilities tend to be the most remote-friendly, while roles requiring hands-on stakeholder alignment or team mentorship are more likely to ask for at least some in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a data analytics manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up from a senior analyst or business intelligence analyst role within the same organization. Large Texas employers in energy, retail, and healthcare, including firms headquartered in Houston and Dallas, regularly promote strong individual contributors into first-time manager roles. Building a portfolio of end-to-end analytics projects, earning a credential such as a Google Data Analytics Certificate or a Tableau Desktop Specialist certification, and applying to associate manager or team lead titles are the concrete steps that open the door.
Where can I find and apply to data analytics manager jobs in Texas?
