Most data analytics managers in Maryland enter the role by building several years of experience as a data analyst or business intelligence analyst before moving into management. Maryland does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers in the state, particularly in healthcare and federal contracting, favor candidates with a bachelor's or master's degree in data science, statistics, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience leading analytical projects and mentoring junior analysts.
How much do data analytics managers make in Maryland?
Data analytics managers in Maryland earn a median of about $136,370 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $77,930 for the lowest 10% to over $213,270 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data analytics managers in Maryland?
Companies currently hiring data analytics managers in Maryland include Johns Hopkins University, Booz Allen Hamilton, and JBS INTERNATIONAL, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Maryland's concentration of healthcare systems, defense contractors, and financial services firms makes it one of the more consistent markets in the mid-Atlantic region for senior analytics leadership roles.
Which Maryland cities have the most data analytics manager jobs?
Baltimore, Bethesda, and Fort Meade have the most data analytics manager openings in Maryland. Baltimore drives volume through its large healthcare systems and financial institutions, while the Montgomery County and Rockville corridor pulls significant demand from federal agencies and government contractors, making suburban locations outside the city proper important markets for this role.
