Sr. PostgreSQL Database Administrator

Overview:
- We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong skills across PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, and Oracle.
- Ideal candidate will be comfortable supporting both cloud-based and traditional enterprise database environments and be able to work independently on database administration, troubleshooting, performance, and reliability.
- The strongest candidate would have deep PostgreSQL/RDS expertise while also being capable of supporting an existing Oracle environment. We’re looking for someone who can provide hands-on operational support but also help us improve the reliability, performance, and maintainability of the database environment over time.
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on PostgreSQL Administration Experience.
- Experience administering PostgreSQL on AWS RDS.
- Strong Oracle DBA experience
- Database Installation, config, upgrades, patches, and maintenance.
- Performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and query/database tuning.
- Backup, restore, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.
- Database security, access management, and permissions.
- Monitoring database health, capacity, storage, and performance.
- Experience troubleshooting production database issues and performing root-case analysis.
- Understanding database migration and modernization, particularly Oracle-to-PostgreSQL, is highly desirable.
- Experience with AWS database services, monitoring, automation, and infrastructure is preferred.
- Ability to document database environments, procedures, and operations standards. - Strong communication skills and ability to work with application, infrastructure, cloud, and engineering teams.
- Ability to mesh well with internal teams and speak to the business side of what we’re doing.
Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
