We are seeking a patient-focused Dentist Treatment Coordinator to help patients understand recommended dental care and navigate the steps to begin treatment. This role combines clear communication, scheduling, documentation, and administrative support in a dental clinic. You will work with patients and the dental team to coordinate care plans while protecting confidential information.
Responsibilities
- Review treatment plans with patients, explain next steps, and coordinate appointments and follow-up.
- Support front desk operations, medical scheduling, phone communication, patient service, and medical administrative support.
- Review medical records and documentation; assist with medical billing, medical collection, and health insurance questions.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medical records (EMR), including records in systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks.
- Your impact: Clear explanations and coordinated scheduling help patients make informed decisions and access the dental care recommended by their dentist.
Qualifications
- Dental clinic experience is preferred; medical office experience, clinic experience, medical receptionist, clerical, administrative, or office experience is also relevant.
- Knowledge of care plans, medical terminology, health insurance, medical coding, CPT coding, ICD coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 is an asset; familiarity with Medicare is helpful.
- Understanding of HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies, documentation review, medical records, and health information management.
- Strong customer service, phone etiquette, typing, computer skills, filing, and Microsoft Office skills; 10-key typing is helpful.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is valued. Conversational Spanish.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
