Development Manager Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a development manager job in Atlanta?
Target Atlanta's three heaviest hiring sectors: technology firms clustered in Midtown and the Perimeter Center area, healthcare systems anchored around the Medical Center district, and financial services companies in Buckhead. Candidates who demonstrate full software development lifecycle ownership and cross-functional team leadership move fastest in this market. Experience managing distributed Agile teams is a recurring differentiator among Atlanta employers, particularly in the city's growing fintech and health-tech segments.
Which companies hire development managers in Atlanta?
Employers hiring development managers in Atlanta right now include CVS Health, Newell Brands, and Jobot, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Atlanta's hiring pool is a mix of Fortune 500 corporate technology departments, regional healthcare networks, and a growing tier of venture-backed software companies, all of which consistently post development manager openings.
Are there remote development manager jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, though availability depends on role type. Development manager positions that are primarily strategic, cross-team, or product-adjacent tend to offer more remote flexibility, while roles tied to on-site engineering teams or infrastructure are mostly in-person. About 69% of development manager openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common among Midtown and Buckhead technology employers.
How can I get a development manager job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is moving from a senior individual contributor role into a team lead or technical lead position at one of the city's mid-size software or health-tech companies, which tend to promote from within before posting externally. Atlanta's strong community of startups in the Ponce City Market and Tech Square ecosystems regularly hire first-time development managers willing to take ownership early. Building a portfolio of mentorship, project coordination, and delivery ownership in your current role closes the gap faster than any credential.
Which industries hire the most development managers in Atlanta?
Most development manager openings in Atlanta sit in Staffing & Recruiting, Insurance, and Technology & Software, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Atlanta's position as a regional headquarters hub for technology, banking, and healthcare companies creates consistent year-round demand across all three sectors, with technology and healthcare driving the largest share of new postings.
