INTRODUCTION
We are a rapidly growing, Boston-based medical technology company using AI to help clinicians make more informed decisions on cardiovascular care - leading to better patient outcomes, improved quality of care, and reduced healthcare costs. Come work at Elucid and be part of delivering on our mission to prevent heart attacks and strokes!
The best engineers on a platform team don't just keep things running. They make the engineers around them better at it too.
At Elucid, the platform you build is what makes it possible to ship software that gives cardiologists a clearer picture of cardiovascular disease reliably, safely and at speed. We're looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer who has seen enough production systems, deployment failures and architectural tradeoffs to know what good looks like—and who gets as much satisfaction from helping a teammate understand why as from solving the problem themselves. This is a senior role with broad scope: you'll own CI/CD strategy, guide infrastructure decisions and be the person others on the team turn to when the hard problems show up. In a regulated medical device environment like ours, the stakes for getting this right are real.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
- 10+ years of DevOps/SRE/Platform engineering focused experience on AWS environments, with strong hands-on scripting in Python, Bash, Ruby, or similar.
- A proven track record owning CI/CD strategy end-to-end (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar), making decisions about how software gets built, tested, and deployed across a multi-service environment.
- Strong containerization and orchestration skills (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/Fargate etc.) and Linux/Ubuntu fundamentals.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform, etc.) and a drive to make environments reproducible and self-documenting.
- Proven ability to serve as an informal technical leader: mentoring engineers, driving architectural decisions, and setting best practices across a team.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and QA functions; equally comfortable whiteboarding with engineers and explaining tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment; healthcare or regulated-industry experience is a plus.
WORK LOCATION AND HOURS
This role is based out of our office in Boston, MA. We operate in a hybrid model with regular in-office collaboration.
- This role participates in on-call rotation that provides coverage on business days from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM. The rotation is shared among all team members and generally occurs for 2–3 weeks per quarter.
SALARY RANGE
The anticipated base salary range for this position at Elucid is $190,000-$240,000. Compensation will be influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, job-related knowledge, skills, education, relevant experience, certifications, and geography as outlined in the job description.
At Elucid, we believe the best work happens in a flexible hybrid environment. Boston-area employees are encouraged to work from the office on Mondays and Wednesdays, with the option to come in additional days if they prefer. Fully remote employees outside the Boston area come in as needed.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at Elucid. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability.
We understand that self-doubt can sometimes prevent great candidates from applying. If you believe you can make an impact at Elucid, even if you don’t meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply!

DevOps Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a devops job in Boston?
The strongest path into Boston's devops market runs through its biotech corridor in Kendall Square and the fintech and enterprise software firms concentrated in the Seaport and Back Bay. Employers in those sectors prioritize candidates with CI/CD pipeline experience, cloud platform certifications, and familiarity with container orchestration. Networking through Boston's tech meetups and demonstrating experience with the tools these industries actually use gives candidates a concrete edge.
Which companies hire devopss in Boston?
Employers hiring devopss in Boston right now include WHOOP, Humana, and IT Labs, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's hiring pool runs wide, from global financial institutions and major research hospitals to early-stage biotech firms and SaaS scale-ups clustered in the Seaport and Innovation District.
Are there remote devops jobs in Boston?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role: infrastructure-heavy and data center-adjacent positions tend to require on-site presence, while cloud engineering and automation-focused devops work is often fully remote. About 50% of devops openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common at the large financial services and biotech employers headquartered in the Seaport and Kendall Square areas.
How can I get a devops job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is through a junior systems or cloud support role at one of the city's many mid-size SaaS companies or research institutions, where devops responsibilities grow organically from helpdesk or IT operations work. Boston's dense concentration of universities and teaching hospitals also creates steady entry-level openings in infrastructure and release engineering. Building hands-on projects with tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, or GitHub Actions and earning a cloud associate certification makes candidates immediately competitive at these employers.
Which industries hire the most devopss in Boston?
The sectors hiring the most devopss in Boston are Technology & Software, Insurance, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's position as a global hub for life sciences research, financial technology, and enterprise software means these industries consistently drive the highest volume of devops openings across the city.
