DevOps Jobs in Seattle: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a devops job in Seattle?
Focus your search on South Lake Union, Seattle's dense tech corridor, and the Eastside cities of Bellevue and Redmond, where cloud infrastructure and enterprise software employers concentrate. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, or CI/CD pipelines gives candidates a clear edge in this market. Targeting roles at mid-size SaaS companies or large cloud platform employers tends to yield the most consistent openings for devops professionals here.
Which companies hire devopss in Seattle?
Employers hiring devopss in Seattle right now include Amazon, Amazon Web Services, and Google, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Seattle's hiring pool is broad, mixing large cloud and enterprise tech companies with fast-growing SaaS startups and established healthcare technology firms.
Are there remote devops jobs in Seattle?
Yes, though availability depends on the role, since devops work that involves physical infrastructure or on-site data center management tends to require in-person presence, while pipeline automation, monitoring, and platform engineering roles are frequently remote. About 35% of devops openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the tech-forward nature of the local employer base. Cloud-focused and SRE-adjacent roles offer the strongest remote options among Seattle listings.
How can I get a devops job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Seattle is through a junior site reliability or systems administrator role at a mid-size tech company or managed services provider in the Eastside or South Lake Union corridor. Building hands-on skills with Linux, Git, and at least one cloud platform strengthens any application significantly. Seattle also has a strong bootcamp and community college ecosystem, and employers in healthcare IT and regional SaaS firms are among the most consistent in hiring candidates making the lateral move from sysadmin or QA backgrounds.
Which industries hire the most devopss in Seattle?
The sectors hiring the most devopss in Seattle are Technology & Software, Retail, and E-Commerce & Online Marketplaces, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026.
