INTRODUCTION
Our client is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role focuses on integrating security throughout the software development and deployment lifecycle, with hands-on work across Microsoft Azure, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, Docker, Infrastructure as Code, automated security testing, and hybrid cloud/on-premises infrastructure. The position offers an opportunity to work across development, operations, manufacturing, security, and business teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions. This is a great opportunity for a senior DevSecOps professional who wants to take ownership of security across the entire engineering lifecycle—not simply bolt security on at the end. You’ll design and strengthen secure CI/CD pipelines, automate SAST/DAST/SCA and vulnerability testing, help secure cloud and Kubernetes environments, and influence organization-wide DevSecOps practices. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who can translate complex security requirements into practical engineering solutions while mentoring teams and driving continuous improvement.

- Implement security monitoring, alerting, and incident response capabilities.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to promote secure coding and deployment practices.
- Support deployment projects and coordinate with third-party vendors.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and assess the security impact of new features and functionality.

Senior Level Devsecops Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level devsecops engineer job?
Employers at this level look for engineers who own security outcomes end to end, not just execute tasks. Demonstrating that you have architected CI/CD pipelines, led incident response, and embedded security controls across the software lifecycle gives you an edge. Candidates who can point to measurable reductions in vulnerability exposure or deployment risk stand out most at this stage.
Which companies hire senior level devsecops engineers?
Companies hiring senior level devsecops engineers right now include Leidos, MANTECH, and Northstrat, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Hiring at this level tends to concentrate in organizations with mature engineering practices, large cloud footprints, or regulatory compliance requirements that demand dedicated senior security and automation expertise.
Are there remote senior level devsecops engineer jobs?
Yes, and remote availability at this level is strong. About 20% of senior level devsecops engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how organizations have normalized distributed engineering teams for senior contributors who can operate independently and lead without in-person oversight.
What makes a devsecops engineer role senior level?
Senior level roles shift from executing security tasks to owning the security posture of entire systems or product lines. Expectations include designing threat models, setting toolchain standards, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating directly with engineering leadership on risk decisions. The scope is broader, the accountability is higher, and the expectation is that you shape how the team works, not just what it ships.
