The Technical Program Manager (TPM), Security leads the strategic launch and operational readiness of security platforms across Azure and Microsoft Security solutions, supporting Customer Service & Support (CSS), the Customer Success Unit (CSU), and Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD). This role drives cross-organizational security initiatives from inception through delivery, ensuring clear requirements, dependency management, risk mitigation, and operational clarity for large-scale security workloads such as Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel. The TPM partners closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to validate readiness, maintain stakeholder alignment, and enable successful launches and Day-0 readiness.

Responsibilities
Program Strategy, Orchestration, and Cross-Org Execution
- Serve as the Technical Program Manager for cross-organizational security launch initiatives, driving strategy, orchestration, and integration across engineering, product, operations, CSS, CSU, and ISD.
- Define program scope, requirements, milestones, and deliverables; manage interdependencies; and drive execution from planning through Day-0 readiness and launch.
Stakeholder Management, Communications, and Executive Readouts
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and leaders to drive alignment, decision-making, and timely issue resolution across teams.
- Provide clear, actionable program updates (status, milestones, risks, issues, and decisions) and ensure shared understanding of operational and customer support impacts.
Technical Oversight and Roadmap Delivery
- Provide technical oversight to track execution against the roadmap, ensuring launch requirements and operational readiness criteria are met for security workloads.
- Partner with engineering teams to understand technical changes and translate them into readiness plans for frontline and operational stakeholders.
Program Governance, Quality, and Risk Management
- Establish and run governance rhythms (intake, prioritization, reviews, and retrospectives) to ensure delivery standards are met across the development lifecycle.
- Identify, track, and drive mitigation plans for technical, operational, and readiness risks; escalate and unblock issues as needed to protect schedule and quality.
Engineering Partnership and Operational Readiness
- Partner with Software Engineering and key operational stakeholders to implement and launch complex technical solutions across feature areas, with a focus on supportability and diagnostics readiness.
- Coordinate readiness assets (tools, documentation, runbooks, knowledge content, and training) to enable operational clarity and customer support Day-0 success.
Success Criteria, Metrics, and Continuous Improvement
- Define success criteria and apply data-driven insights to evaluate readiness, highlight trends, and recommend actions based on risk and operational signals.
- Drive continuous improvement by incorporating learnings from launches and changes in Azure and Microsoft Security platform capabilities into future program plans.
Roadmaps, Schedules, and Staging/Implementation Plans
- Develop and deliver roadmaps and project schedules across multiple feature groups; drive staging and implementation plans for release activities; and manage execution to committed timelines.
- Ensure alignment across teams on launch readiness gates and completion criteria prior to release.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years’ experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to government security requirement
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with public cloud platforms with a focus on security capabilities and services.
- Experience using data‑driven or AI‑enabled approaches to support operational analytics or security workflows (e.g., SQL, generative AI, or automation).
- Knowledge of security domains such as identity and access management, threat detection and response, SIEM, SOAR, or incident management.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft SC‑200, SC‑300, AZ‑500, or equivalent security certifications).
- Familiarity with cloud security technologies such as Microsoft Azure Security, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, or related detection and response platforms.
- Experience supporting operational readiness or launch activities for security workloads, including dependency management and risk identification.
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
