Align your credentials to specialty occupation
Commercial Lead positions require you to demonstrate a direct connection between your degree field and the role. A business, economics, or marketing degree strengthens your case. A general arts degree paired with commercial experience needs a credential evaluation to hold up under DOL scrutiny.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for companies that have filed LCAs for commercial or business development roles. An employer who has run this process before moves faster and makes fewer errors on your paperwork.
Confirm the prevailing wage tier matches your offer
Your employer files an LCA certifying your salary meets DOL prevailing wage for the Commercial Lead SOC code in your work location. If the offered salary falls below the certified wage level, USCIS will reject the petition. Verify the wage tier before signing your offer letter.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA and consulate prep
Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles LCA submission, visa paperwork, and consulate appointment preparation end-to-end. This is especially useful for Commercial Lead roles where the specialty occupation argument needs precise documentation.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions at interview
The E-3 is a nonimmigrant visa, so consular officers assess whether you intend to return to Australia. Bring evidence of ties: property, family, professional memberships, or Australian superannuation accounts. A strong answer here prevents administrative processing delays.

Find Commercial Lead JobsCommercial Lead E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Commercial Lead jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Commercial Lead roles at U.S. employers who are open to E-3 sponsorship, so you're not filtering through general job listings and guessing at sponsorship willingness. The E-3 is exclusive to Australian nationals and has no lottery, which means employers who understand it tend to be receptive once you explain the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Commercial Lead role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3 visa?
It can, but the framing matters. The role must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, commerce, or marketing. If the job description accepts any degree or substitutes experience freely for education, the specialty occupation argument weakens. A tightly scoped Commercial Lead role with clear degree requirements in a relevant discipline typically qualifies.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Commercial Lead roles?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so your employer doesn't need to gamble on a random selection process. H-1B requires entering a lottery each April with roughly a one-in-four selection rate for most applicants. For Commercial Lead roles, both visas require specialty occupation status and a certified LCA, but the E-3 path is faster and more predictable from an employer's perspective.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Commercial Lead?
Yes, but the new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need a new visa stamp if yours lists the previous employer. There's no H-1B-style portability provision for the E-3. You can start with the new employer once the LCA is certified and the new visa is issued, so plan for a two-to-four week gap between offer acceptance and your start date.
