Intuitive is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We provide equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants and employees, and prohibit discrimination and harassment of any type, without regard to race, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, color, age, religion, protected veteran or disability status, genetic information or any other status protected under federal, state, or local applicable laws.
U.S. Export Controls Disclaimer: In accordance with the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (15 CFR §743.13(b)), some roles at Intuitive Surgical may be subject to U.S. export controls for prospective employees who are nationals from countries currently on embargo or sanctions status.
Certain information you provide as part of the application will be used for purposes of determining whether Intuitive Surgical will need to (i) obtain an export license from the U.S. Government on your behalf (note: the government’s licensing process can take 3 to 6+ months) or (ii) implement a Technology Control Plan (“TCP”) (note: typically adds 2 weeks to the hiring process).
For any Intuitive role subject to export controls, final offers are contingent upon obtaining an approved export license and/or an executed TCP prior to the prospective employee’s start date, which may or may not be flexible, and within a timeframe that does not unreasonably impede the hiring need. If applicable, candidates will be notified and instructed on any requirements for these purposes.

This position may be filled at a different job level than listed here depending on business need and/or on the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge and skills. Compensation will be based primarily on the job level at which the role is filled and the candidate’s qualifications, consistent with applicable law.
We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.

Translate your Australian degree credentials
U.S. employers and consular officers need to confirm your Australian bachelor's degree meets the specialty occupation standard. A credential evaluation from a recognized service establishes equivalency to a U.S. four-year degree before you start applying.
Search for LCA-filing finance employers
DOL's Labor Condition Application disclosure data shows which companies have filed LCAs for analyst and finance roles. Use Migrate Mate to filter E-3 sponsoring employers by job title so you're targeting firms with a documented filing history.
Clarify the internship's specialty occupation status
Not every internship qualifies. The role must normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific discipline, not just prefer one. Ask the recruiter whether the position has been filed under a specialty occupation classification before you proceed.
Confirm your employer will file the LCA before your start date
The LCA must be certified by DOL before you attend your consular interview. Ask your employer to initiate FLAG system filing as soon as your offer is signed, since DOL certification typically takes seven business days.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
Internships move fast and delays cost offer slots. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles your LCA, DS-160, and consulate preparation end-to-end, so you're not coordinating three separate government processes while finishing your degree.
Verify your visa status covers the full internship period
E-3 visas are issued in two-year increments, but consular officers can issue shorter validity tied to your offer letter's end date. Get an offer letter that clearly states your employment period so your visa isn't cut short.

Find Financial Analyst Intern JobsFinancial Analyst Intern E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Financial Analyst Intern jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Financial Analyst Intern roles where employers are already prepared to support E-3 sponsorship. Most general job boards don't filter by visa type, so you end up cold-screening hundreds of listings. Migrate Mate surfaces roles with documented LCA filing history, cutting that research step entirely.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Financial Analyst Intern role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It can, but it depends on how the role is defined. USCIS and consular officers look at whether the position normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a directly related field. Internships described as general business support or rotational programs without a specific degree requirement often don't qualify. Always confirm the job description ties the duties to a specific academic discipline.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for an Australian Financial Analyst Intern?
For Australians, the E-3 is far more practical for an internship. The H-1B has an annual cap of 65,000 slots and requires winning a lottery, which makes it an unreliable path for short-term roles. The E-3 has a 10,500-slot annual allocation that has never been fully used, no lottery, and can be processed at a U.S. consulate in Australia within weeks of receiving a certified LCA from your employer.
Can I stay in the U.S. after my Financial Analyst Intern role ends and convert to a full-time E-3?
Yes, if a full-time offer comes through before your authorized stay expires. Your E-3 status is tied to your current employer and role, so switching to a full-time position requires a new LCA filed by the new employer and, in most cases, a new consular interview in Australia. You can't simply extend the existing visa to cover different employment terms without going through that process again.
