E-3 Visa Tax Director Jobs
Tax Director roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or tax law. Australian professionals bring cross-border tax expertise that U.S. multinationals actively seek, and the E-3's no-lottery, indefinitely renewable structure makes sponsorship straightforward for employers.

Credential your Australian tax qualifications for U.S. roles
A Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA Australia designation isn't automatically recognized by U.S. hiring managers. Get a credential evaluation that maps your qualification to a U.S. equivalent so your resume clears ATS filters for Tax Director postings.
Target multinationals with active transfer pricing teams
U.S. companies managing Australian subsidiaries or APAC operations regularly need Tax Directors who understand both jurisdictions. Focus on publicly traded companies with APAC reporting obligations, they're most likely to sponsor E-3 visas for cross-border tax expertise.
Search verified E-3 sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Tax Director roles by E-3 visa sponsorship history, saving you from applying to employers who won't sponsor. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once you receive an offer.
Distinguish your tax specialty before the offer stage
Employers filing an LCA with DOL must specify the job duties supporting specialty occupation status. Clarify whether your expertise is in international tax, M&A tax, or transfer pricing before the offer letter is drafted, this affects how the LCA is structured.
Confirm the employer's LCA filing timeline before accepting
Your E-3 visa can't be issued until the DOL certifies the LCA, which typically takes seven business days. Ask your prospective employer whether they've filed LCAs before and who manages the process, inexperienced HR teams can delay your start date by weeks.
Prepare a U.S.-format resume that ties your degree to the role
USCIS requires a direct nexus between your degree field and the Tax Director position. Your resume should explicitly connect your accounting or tax law degree to the specific duties in the job description to support specialty occupation classification at the consulate.
E-3 Visa Tax Director: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Tax Director jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find Tax Director roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. The platform surfaces roles by visa type so you're not cold-applying to companies that won't sponsor. From there, your employer files a DOL Labor Condition Application before you attend your consulate appointment.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000â$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Tax Director role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. A Tax Director role requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or tax law to perform the duties, meeting the USCIS specialty occupation standard. Roles focused on international tax, transfer pricing, or M&A tax have the clearest qualification path because the degree-to-job nexus is direct and well-documented in DOL LCA filings.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Tax Director roles?
The E-3 has no lottery, no annual cap, and can be renewed indefinitely in two-year increments, none of which apply to the H-1B visa. For a Tax Director role, this means your employer can sponsor you any time of year without waiting for an April lottery result. The trade-off is that the E-3 is available only to Australian citizens.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Tax Director?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if you travel outside the U.S. before starting. If you're already inside the U.S., you can begin work once the new LCA is certified and your visa is still valid, you don't need to return to Australia first.
