E-3 Visa Hospice Registered Nurse Jobs
Hospice Registered Nurses are in high demand across U.S. palliative care networks, and the E-3 visa gives Australian RNs a direct path to sponsorship without a lottery or annual cap. Your AHPRA registration and clinical experience transfer well, but you'll need a U.S. state nursing license and a specialty occupation job offer before your employer files the Labor Condition Application.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Hospice Registered Nurse
Get your NCLEX and state license first
E-3 approval depends on a valid U.S. RN license in the state where you'll work. Apply to your target state's nursing board before job searching, processing can take three to six months and will delay your offer timeline if left too late.
Verify CGFNS credential evaluation covers hospice RN roles
Some state nursing boards require a CGFNS credentials evaluation for internationally trained nurses. Confirm your Australian bachelor's in nursing satisfies the equivalency requirement for the specific state, since requirements vary and a gap here stalls your license application.
Target hospice networks that already file LCAs
Search DOL's FLAG portal for employers with certified Labor Condition Applications under SOC code 29-1141 (Registered Nurses). Hospice organizations that have filed LCAs before understand the E-3 process and are far less likely to withdraw an offer over sponsorship paperwork.
Use Migrate Mate to find E-3 sponsorship roles
Search Migrate Mate for Hospice Registered Nurse positions filtered by E-3 visa sponsorship. The platform surfaces employers with active LCA filing history, so you're applying to organizations already set up to hire Australian nurses rather than educating HR from scratch.
Clarify E-3 vs H-1B with your hiring manager early
Many U.S. hospice employers default to H-1B when a candidate mentions visa sponsorship. Correct this before an offer is drafted: the E-3 requires no lottery, has a faster turnaround, and costs the employer significantly less, making it easier to get sign-off from finance and legal.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and consulate prep
Once you have a signed offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the entire process from LCA submission through consulate appointment. This matters in hospice hiring where clinical start dates are fixed and delays in paperwork directly affect patient care staffing.

Find Hospice Registered Nurse JobsHospice Registered Nurse E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Hospice Registered Nurse jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Hospice RN roles where employers are already set up for E-3 sponsorship. The platform filters by visa type and surfaces employers with a history of filing Labor Condition Applications for nursing roles, saving you from applying to organizations that don't understand the E-3 process or aren't willing to support it.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does hospice nursing qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3 visa?
Yes. Registered Nursing is recognized by USCIS as a specialty occupation when the position normally requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field. Hospice RN roles consistently meet this standard given the clinical assessment, care planning, and palliative expertise they demand. You'll need to hold a U.S. RN license in the state where you'll work before USCIS will approve the petition.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Australian hospice nurses?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian nationals and has no lottery, no annual cap, and a faster processing timeline than H-1B. For hospice employers, E-3 sponsorship costs less and avoids the uncertainty of a lottery slot. H-1B selection rates for nursing have historically been low, making the E-3 a far more reliable path for Australians entering U.S. hospice care.
Can I transfer my Australian nursing registration for an E-3 hospice role?
Australian AHPRA registration doesn't transfer directly to U.S. states. You'll need to pass the NCLEX-RN exam and apply for licensure in the state where you'll be employed. Some states also require a CGFNS credentials evaluation for internationally trained nurses. Start this process as early as possible because it typically takes three to six months and must be complete before your E-3 visa is issued.
