Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a SAP Developer
Frame your SAP credentials for U.S. specialty occupation
Your Australian three-year bachelor's degree is accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree, but document the equivalency explicitly. An academic credential evaluation strengthens your LCA filing and gives consular officers what they need to confirm specialty occupation status.
Target employers with active DOL LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for employers who have filed LCAs for SAP roles. Companies already familiar with the LCA process for E-3 or H-1B sponsorship move faster and make fewer errors during your filing.
Clarify your SAP module specialization before outreach
Employers filing an LCA must define the specific role, so vague titles like 'SAP Consultant' slow the process. Identify whether you're pursuing SAP S/4HANA, SAP FICO, SAP SD, or another module so the job description maps cleanly to a specialty occupation definition.
Negotiate who handles the LCA before accepting an offer
The employer must file the LCA with DOL before you can apply for your E-3 visa at the consulate. Confirm during offer negotiation that the employer will manage this step, and get a timeline in writing so your start date is realistic.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and consulate prep
SAP roles often involve third-party client sites, which can complicate prevailing wage determinations on the LCA. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the LCA filing, visa paperwork, and consulate appointment preparation so nothing falls through the gaps between offer and approval.
Prepare for consular questions on employer-client arrangements
If your SAP Developer role places you at a client site rather than the direct employer's office, bring a client letter to your consulate interview. Officers increasingly ask about end-client arrangements for contractor and consulting roles to verify the employment relationship is genuine.

Find SAP Developer JobsSAP Developer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find SAP Developer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists SAP Developer roles from employers who are open to E-3 visa sponsorship for Australian nationals. Searching there filters out the noise of listings where sponsorship isn't on the table. You can also cross-reference the DOL's LCA disclosure data to identify companies that have filed for SAP roles under the E-3 or H-1B programs previously.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an SAP Developer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. SAP Developer positions typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related technical field, which meets the USCIS specialty occupation definition. The specific SAP module matters too: roles tied to implementation, configuration, or development are more defensible than broad 'consultant' titles, which can invite scrutiny if the degree requirement isn't made explicit in the job offer.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for SAP Developer roles in the U.S.?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens and has a 10,500 annual cap that has never been exhausted, meaning there's no lottery and no waiting period. H-1B has an 85,000 cap with a competitive lottery, so most applicants wait at least one cycle. For SAP Developers who are Australian nationals, the E-3 is a direct path: employer files the LCA, you attend a consulate interview, and you can start within weeks of approval.
Can I change SAP employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but your E-3 status is tied to a specific employer and job. Changing employers requires the new company to file a fresh LCA with DOL and obtain a new E-3 approval before you start. There's no portability provision like some other visa categories offer, so plan the transition carefully to avoid a gap in your work authorization. A 60-day grace period applies if you leave your current employer.
