Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Utilization Management Specialist
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees in health administration or nursing are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 visa purposes. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved body before your first interview to prevent delays during the LCA stage.
Target insurers and health systems with LCA history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify health insurers, hospital networks, and managed care organizations that have previously filed LCAs for utilization management or care coordination roles. Prior LCA history means the employer already understands the process.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for E-3 visa sponsorship, so you're not cold-applying to employers unfamiliar with the process. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once you have an offer confirmed.
Clarify the specialty occupation basis upfront
Utilization management roles that blend administrative and clinical duties can raise specialty occupation questions during consular review. Confirm with your employer that the position description explicitly requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field, not just preferred or equivalent experience.
Align your offer letter with DOL prevailing wage levels
The LCA your employer files with the DOL must certify that your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your role and location. Ask your employer to verify the wage level before submitting the LCA to avoid a rejection that resets the filing timeline.
Book your consulate appointment before giving notice in Australia
E-3 visas are issued at Australian consulates in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth, with appointment availability varying by location and season. Confirm your appointment date is secured before resigning from your current role, since visa processing adds time beyond the employer's filing timeline.
E-3 Visa Utilization Management Specialist: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Utilization Management Specialist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find Utilization Management Specialist roles where employers are already open to E-3 sponsorship. Standard job listings rarely specify visa type, so filtering by sponsorship intent upfront saves you from pursuing employers who won't engage with the process once they learn you need an E-3.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Utilization Management Specialist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as health administration, nursing, social work, or a related clinical discipline. Roles that accept any degree or substitute experience freely can face scrutiny at the consulate. The job description should make the degree requirement explicit, not just preferred.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Utilization Management Specialist roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it has no annual lottery and no cap, so you can apply at any time of year and start as soon as your visa is approved. H-1B visa registrations are capped at 85,000 per year with a lottery that runs once annually in March. For Australians, the E-3 is a more predictable and faster path to the same type of employer-sponsored work authorization.
Can I switch employers after starting work on an E-3 as a Utilization Management Specialist?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you must obtain a new E-3 visa before you can begin work for them. You can't port your existing E-3 status to a new employer the way some other visa categories allow. Plan for a four-to-eight-week transition window to cover LCA certification and consulate scheduling.
