INTRODUCTION
Georgia Pacific Consumer Products Division is seeking qualified professionals for an Electrical Project Engineer role to join our Green Bay Operations team. The individual in this role will focus on implementing projects in the converting and shipping areas. Project implementation begins at the idea/concept phase and continues with design, installation, commissioning, and optimizing for a wide variety of projects. The successful candidate will utilize engineering expertise to complete electrical design, programming PLC's, VFD's and HMI's. The individual in this role will also have opportunities to solve complex problems to support our customers in operations.
OUR TEAM
The Green Bay Operations Engineering team is dedicated to the success of all projects. We also support the mill to drive excellence in our operational performance. There are four main engineering groups (electrical, mechanical, process, and reliability) that are in the same office area which promotes team collaboration between all groups. We have a team-based project approach that allows our teams to take on a wide variety of complex projects. We are located in Green Bay Wisconsin at the Broadway facility - this is a local role, and remote work is not routine.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Partner with manufacturing engineers during the conceptual phase of projects to assist in project feasibility.
- Partner with project managers to determine scope of work, deliverables, and project execution strategies.
- Develop engineering and capital cost estimates and schedules for the electrical portions of assigned projects.
- Manage multiple projects in different phases at the same time, flowing to the work as required.
- Detailed design engineering utilizing innovative thinking.
- Provide safety and reliability solutions up front in every project.
- Review/verify engineering standards for OEM supplied equipment.
- Develop bid packages for project installations.
- Identify project risks and assist in mitigating impacts to the project.
- Apply economic thinking when evaluating alternatives, equipment, vendors, and contractors.
- Field support on major milestones in engineering, construction, startup, and commissioning.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or in lieu of a degree, have a minimum 5 years of experience in engineering or a similar role in a manufacturing setting.
- Academic or professional experience with Industrial Control Systems (PLCs, VFD's, HMI's).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering.
- Project Management experience in forecasting, budgeting, project closeout.
- Knowledge in some or all of the following industrial controls: Rockwell Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, Ignition, Rockwell Powerflex and Kinetix drives, Cognex vision systems, and Ethernet/IP, deviceNet, ControlNet communication protocols.
- Experience in interpreting and applying NFPA and OSHA requirements pertaining to electrical safe work practices.
