Entry Level Elementary School Teacher Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level elementary school teacher job?
Start by completing your state licensure requirements and highlighting your student teaching or practicum experience on your resume. Entry level candidates who stand out typically have a organized lesson plan portfolio, strong classroom management examples, and letters of recommendation from cooperating teachers. Applying to districts actively posting for new grads and being open to long-term substitute roles can also build your path to a full-time position.
Which companies hire entry level elementary school teachers?
Companies hiring entry level elementary school teachers right now include Spring Independent School District, San Francisco Unified School District, and Kipp Nashville, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At the entry level, hiring comes from a mix of public school districts, charter school networks, and private or faith-based schools that regularly bring on new graduates to fill classroom openings.
Are there remote entry level elementary school teacher jobs?
Yes, though most elementary teaching roles are on-site by nature. About 1% of entry level elementary school teacher openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with those positions typically found at virtual charter schools or online tutoring and curriculum programs that serve K-5 students. On-site roles remain the clear majority at this level.
Are these new grad elementary school teacher jobs?
Yes, the listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles that welcome candidates with little or no professional classroom experience. A posting is new-grad friendly when it lists zero to two years of experience as acceptable, counts student teaching or practicum hours toward requirements, or explicitly welcomes candidates who are newly licensed and building their first classroom.
Which industries hire the most entry level elementary school teachers?
Entry Level elementary school teacher roles concentrate in Education, Construction & Real Estate, and Government & Public Sector, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at the entry level because they maintain large, recurring classroom needs and often have structured onboarding programs designed to support teachers who are just starting out in their careers.
