Essential Functions:
The Nurse Technician Senior is responsible for the delivery of non-licensed patient care according to the established policies of the department, LCMC and the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. The Nurse Technician Senior demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assist the nursing personnel in providing care to acutely ill patients with cardiac, medical, surgical, and post critical care needs.
The Nurse Technician Senior works in collaboration with and under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) in the delivery of care to patients who are at minimal-to-moderately high risk, and to a large extent care is routine, standardized and outcomes are predictable. The Nurse Technician Senior is mentored by the RN and recognizes his/her personal and legal limitations and seeks assistance and guidance appropriately.

Assist with direct patient care services and procedures and related tasks, such as checking in patients, taking vital signs, bathing, positioning, ambulation, nutrition, and elimination activities, and assisting with medical examinations.

Keep registered nurse abreast of patient status. Document care activities. Communicate with entire unit team.

Perform routine procedures addressed in the competencies of the position. Maintain/obtain medical supplies and equipment.

Perform clerical and administrative functions, in support of unit activities.

Practice safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.

Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
Required: Completed 2 clinical semesters of an accredited nursing school (Completion of Verification of Student Nurse form).
License/Certification:
Proof of current American Heart Association Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider.
