Engineering Jobs in Phoenix: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a engineering job in Phoenix?
Phoenix's strongest hiring comes from its aerospace and defense cluster, semiconductor fabs in Chandler and Gilbert, and the growing clean energy sector around the metro. Candidates with hands-on manufacturing, systems, or civil infrastructure experience stand out locally. Targeting employers near the I-10 and Loop 101 corridors, where industrial and tech campuses concentrate, gives you the most options in one search.
Which companies hire engineerings in Phoenix?
Phoenix engineering roles are posted by ASM, Amazon, and Caris Life Sciences and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. The Phoenix market includes a mix of large defense primes, semiconductor manufacturers, construction and civil firms, and utilities serving the rapidly expanding metro.
Are there remote engineering jobs in Phoenix?
Yes, though with limits: hands-on roles in manufacturing, construction, and field operations are almost entirely on-site, while software, systems, and data engineering roles are more commonly remote-eligible. About 59% of engineering openings tied to Phoenix are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, skewing toward IT infrastructure and software engineering. Design and analytical roles in Tempe and downtown Phoenix account for most of the hybrid postings.
How can I get a engineering job in Phoenix with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Phoenix is through the city's semiconductor and advanced manufacturing sector, where companies regularly hire associate engineers and technician-to-engineer pipeline roles. Arizona State University's Tempe campus feeds a strong local network, and many Chandler and Mesa fabs run co-op programs that convert to full-time offers. Entry-level civil and infrastructure roles tied to Phoenix's ongoing highway and transit expansion also provide a practical foot in the door.
Which industries hire the most engineerings in Phoenix?
Phoenix engineering roles concentrate in Energy, Medical Devices, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Phoenix's status as a semiconductor hub, combined with its large defense contractor presence and one of the fastest-growing construction markets in the country, keeps demand for engineers across multiple disciplines consistently high.
