Engineering Manager Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a engineering manager job in Jacksonville?
Focus your search on Jacksonville's defense and aerospace contractors along the Southside corridor, the major healthcare systems expanding their technology teams Downtown, and the growing logistics and supply chain software companies near the port. Candidates who can show cross-functional team leadership and experience managing engineers across agile and regulated environments tend to stand out in this market. Tailoring your resume to the sector you are targeting makes a meaningful difference here.
Which companies hire engineering managers in Jacksonville?
Companies currently hiring engineering managers in Jacksonville include FIS, HDR, and Consor, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Jacksonville's mix of large defense primes, regional hospital systems, and mid-size fintech and logistics technology firms means demand comes from a wide range of employer types and sizes.
Are there remote engineering manager jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, though engineering manager roles are less remote-friendly than individual contributor positions because the job involves hands-on team oversight and stakeholder coordination. About 33% of engineering manager openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with most flexibility concentrated in software and fintech employers rather than defense or on-site operations roles. Hybrid arrangements with two to three days on-site are the most common setup locally.
How can I get a engineering manager job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is moving into a lead engineer or technical team lead role first, particularly at one of the city's mid-size defense contractors or healthcare technology firms that promote from within. Companies supporting Naval Air Station Jacksonville and the port's logistics technology operations frequently hire engineers who can grow into management. Building visibility through Jacksonville's local IEEE chapter and demonstrating project ownership on your resume helps you compete for that first step-up role.
