Entry Level Engineering Project Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level engineering project manager job?
Employers hiring at the entry level look for candidates who can demonstrate hands-on project work, even from internships, capstone projects, or volunteer coordination roles. A foundational certification like CAPM or familiarity with project management tools such as Asana, Jira, or Microsoft Project gives candidates a concrete edge. Tailoring your resume to show scope management, scheduling, or cross-team communication, even in small projects, signals readiness for the role.
Which companies hire entry level engineering project managers?
Companies hiring entry level engineering project managers right now include DCI Engineers, Apple, and Elevate Care, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from defense contractors, infrastructure firms, technology companies, and manufacturers that run structured rotational or associate programs designed to develop early-career project management talent.
Are there remote entry level engineering project manager jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles are still common at this stage given the hands-on coordination these positions require. About 18% of entry level engineering project manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates who prefer flexibility do have real options. Filtering by work setting when searching lets you focus only on the arrangements that fit your situation.
Are these new grad engineering project manager jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior engineering project manager roles alongside other entry level openings. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or co-op work as qualifying experience, or explicitly invites candidates who can demonstrate project work through a portfolio rather than a long employment history.
Which industries hire the most entry level engineering project managers?
Entry Level engineering project manager roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Consulting & Professional Services, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors tend to drive early-career hiring because they run large capital projects, product development cycles, or infrastructure programs that need structured coordination support, creating a steady pipeline of openings suited to candidates just entering the field.
