General Information:
James Madison University's Facilities Management is currently hiring for HVAC Repair/Preventative Maintenance Technician. This position will assist with repairs and maintenance of all HVAC and related equipment on campus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the repairs and maintenance of HVAC equipment
- Performing inspections on equipment
- Keeping Current with EPA requirements on proper refrigerant usage
- Assisting with seasonal maintenance on HVAC systems to provide reliable and efficient operation
- Ordering of parts and materials needed for jobs
- Maintaining tools and test equipment and keeping in good working condition
- Providing input for replacements and repairs of HVAC and related systems
Qualifications:
- Must possess working knowledge of HVAC and related equipment
- Ability to use various test instruments
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC and related equipment
- Must have EPA section 608 certification
- Must have EPA type II refrigerant usage certification or ability to obtain
- Ability to work overtime and/or another temporary shift to provide service to HVAC and refrigeration systems that are vital to the operation of the University
- Availability for rotating on call responsibilities
