Entry Level Program Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level program manager job?
Employers hiring at the entry level look for candidates who can demonstrate basic project coordination skills, familiarity with tools like Asana, Jira, or Monday.com, and evidence of managing timelines or cross-functional tasks. Internship experience, a capstone project, or volunteer work where you led a team or tracked deliverables gives you a concrete edge. Tailor your resume to show ownership of outcomes, not just participation.
Which companies hire entry level program managers?
Companies hiring entry level program managers right now include Amazon, US Department of Veterans Affairs, and Google, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. A mix of large enterprises, government contractors, and fast-growing mid-size companies regularly post entry level roles, especially in technology, healthcare, and defense.
Are there remote entry level program manager jobs?
Yes, though remote availability varies by employer and industry. About 10% of entry level program manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with hybrid arrangements being the most common format at this level. On-site roles remain prevalent in government, defense, and healthcare sectors.
Are these new grad program manager jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior program manager roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or academic project work toward the requirement, or explicitly invites a portfolio in place of a long work history. Searching for "junior" or "new grad" alongside the role title surfaces the most accessible openings.
Which industries hire the most entry level program managers?
