Entry Level Security Project Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level security project manager job?
Entry level security project manager roles look for candidates who can demonstrate basic project coordination skills, familiarity with security frameworks, and the ability to track tasks and communicate across teams. A relevant degree in cybersecurity, IT, or business helps, but so does an internship, a capstone project, or a certification like CompTIA Security+ or PMP fundamentals that shows you can organize and document security work.
Which companies hire entry level security project managers?
Companies hiring entry level security project managers right now include UAB Medicine, NYU Langone Health, and Elevate Care, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Government contractors, managed security service providers, and large enterprises in finance and healthcare tend to bring on junior security project managers most consistently at this level.
Are there remote entry level security project manager jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles are still common at the entry level. About 8% of entry level security project manager openings are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, so there are flexible options available if you search specifically for them. Filtering by work setting when you search helps narrow results quickly.
Are these new grad security project manager jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior security project manager roles. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience and accepts internships, academic projects, or a relevant portfolio in place of full professional history. Look for postings that list internship experience or coursework as acceptable qualifications.
Which industries hire the most entry level security project managers?
