Environmental Analyst I – Cultural Resources / Archaeology
Location: Atlanta, GA
Industry: Utilities / Energy / Infrastructure
Contract - 18 Months

Position Overview
We are seeking an Environmental Analyst I with a background in archaeology, anthropology, or cultural resource management (CRM) to support cultural resource compliance and survey activities.
This role focuses on planning, directing, conducting, reviewing, and reporting on archaeological and cultural resource surveys in support of infrastructure and utility projects. The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience and the ability to manage multiple projects in coordination with cross-functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Cultural Resource Management (CRM)
- Plan and conduct archaeological and cultural resource surveys.
- Review and prepare technical reports for compliance documentation.
- Conduct screening and background research related to cultural resources.
- Support regulatory compliance for cultural and archaeological requirements.
Project Coordination & Oversight
- Direct and supervise field or survey activities as needed.
- Balance and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including:
- Project Engineers
- Environmental Teams
- Legal Counsel
- Third-party representatives
GIS & Data Analysis
- Utilize GIS tools for mapping, spatial analysis, and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting for regulatory purposes.
- Review and analyze survey data and documentation.
Communication & Compliance
- Interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure cultural resource activities align with environmental and regulatory standards.
- Provide insights and recommendations related to cultural resource impacts.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate degree in:
- Archaeology
- Anthropology
- Cultural Resource Management
- Related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cultural resource management.
- At least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Experience planning and conducting archaeological surveys.
- Experience reviewing and reporting on cultural resource assessments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of CRM experience.
- 2+ years in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience supporting utility or infrastructure projects.
- Strong proficiency in GIS.
- Familiarity with environmental permitting and compliance processes.
