Environmental Health And Safety Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a environmental health and safety manager in Texas?
Most environmental health and safety managers in Texas begin with a bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health, industrial hygiene, or engineering. Texas does not require a state-issued license specific to EHS managers, but employers strongly favor candidates holding the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential administered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Many roles in the state's petrochemical and energy sectors also expect familiarity with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality compliance requirements.
Which companies hire environmental health and safety managers in Texas?
Employers hiring environmental health and safety managers in Texas right now include TMEIC, CelLink, and Linde, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of energy, chemicals, and large-scale construction means hiring is particularly active among refinery operators, pipeline companies, and major industrial contractors with permanent facilities in the state.
Which Texas cities have the most environmental health and safety manager jobs?
Katy, Abilene, and Beaumont have the most environmental health and safety manager openings in Texas. Houston dominates due to its dense cluster of petrochemical plants, refineries, and energy headquarters, while Dallas-Fort Worth draws hiring across construction, logistics, and corporate EHS functions, and San Antonio supports steady demand through its manufacturing base and large healthcare and military installation presence.
Are there remote environmental health and safety manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Environmental health and safety manager work is inherently on-site because the role requires physical inspections, audits, and direct oversight of workplace conditions. About 0% of environmental health and safety manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those tend to be corporate EHS program management or compliance consulting roles with limited field requirements.
How can I get hired as a environmental health and safety manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an EHS coordinator or safety technician role at a Texas refinery, construction general contractor, or chemical manufacturer, which are the employer types that hire the most EHS staff in the state. Large employers such as Turner Construction and LyondellBasell operate Texas sites large enough to bring on entry-level candidates who demonstrate OSHA 30-hour General Industry or Construction certification. Building that credential alongside a degree in environmental science or occupational safety gives candidates a concrete edge when applying for coordinator positions that grow into manager roles.
Where can I find and apply to environmental health and safety manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to environmental health and safety manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
