Epic Applications Analyst Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a epic applications analyst in California?
The standard path is a bachelor's degree in health informatics, nursing informatics, information systems, or a clinical discipline, followed by Epic certification in a relevant module, which employers typically sponsor after hire. California does not require a state-issued license specific to this role, but large California health systems often expect candidates to complete internal credentialing or system-access training before going live. Hands-on build experience in a health system EHR environment is the primary hiring filter.
How much do epic applications analysts make in California?
Epic applications analysts in California earn a median of about $127,720 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,110 for the lowest 10% to over $181,770 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire epic applications analysts in California?
Employers hiring epic applications analysts in California right now include Sutter Health, North East Medical Services, and Golden Valley Health Centers, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's large integrated health systems, academic medical centers, and regional community hospital networks collectively maintain some of the largest Epic environments in the country, making the state a consistent source of analyst demand across specialties.
Which California cities have the most epic applications analyst jobs?
Sacramento, Daly City, and Atwater have the most epic applications analyst openings in California. Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area drive volume through major health systems and academic medical centers headquartered there, while San Diego's concentration of research hospitals and VA facilities sustains steady demand for configuration and optimization roles.
Are there remote epic applications analyst jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most healthcare IT roles. About 33% of epic applications analyst openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based, build-and-configure nature of the work. Module configuration, optimization, and training functions tend to be the most remote-eligible, while go-live support and end-user training roles more often require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a epic applications analyst in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a clinical or revenue cycle role within a California health system, because employers treat frontline workflow knowledge as a substitute for build experience. Kaiser Permanente, UCSF Health, and Cedars-Sinai run internal EHR champion and super-user programs that often pipeline staff into junior analyst seats. Completing an Epic fundamentals or module-specific training course independently demonstrates initiative, and candidates who earn an associate-level Epic credential before applying stand out in entry-level reviews.
Where can I find and apply to epic applications analyst jobs in California?
You can find and apply to epic applications analyst jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find ones that fit your module specialty and experience level, and apply directly to each posting.
