Entry Level Facilities Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level facilities manager job?
Focus on any hands-on experience you already have: campus facilities work, internships, maintenance coordination, or even volunteer building management. Employers at this level look for candidates who understand basic building systems, can prioritize work orders, and communicate clearly with vendors and staff. A relevant associate or bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, or a related field strengthens your application, but demonstrated initiative and reliability matter just as much.
Which companies hire entry level facilities managers?
Companies hiring entry level facilities managers right now include Walmart, Oracle, and Equinix, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring comes from a wide range of organizations, including corporate campuses, healthcare systems, property management firms, universities, and large retail operations that need junior staff to support day-to-day building operations.
Are there remote entry level facilities manager jobs?
Yes, though most facilities roles are on-site by nature. About 1% of entry level facilities manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to involve coordination, scheduling, or vendor management duties rather than direct physical oversight. If flexibility matters to you, look for postings that mention hybrid scheduling or administrative facilities support roles.
Are these new grad facilities manager jobs?
Yes, many of the listings here are new grad and junior roles that explicitly welcome candidates with little or no professional experience. A new grad friendly posting typically notes that it accepts zero to two years of experience, values internship or co-op work, or mentions a willingness to train the right candidate. Recent graduates with relevant coursework or campus facilities involvement are strong fits for these openings.
Which industries hire the most entry level facilities managers?
Entry Level facilities manager roles concentrate in Retail, Technology & Software, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to maintain large physical footprints with ongoing needs for building maintenance, space coordination, and safety compliance, making them reliable sources of entry level opportunities for candidates just starting out in facilities work.
