Entry Level Family Law Paralegal Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level family law paralegal job?
Focus on completing a paralegal certificate or an associate's or bachelor's degree with coursework in family law, then gain practical exposure through law school clinic volunteering, internships at family law firms, or court-filing experience. Employers at this level look for familiarity with client intake, document drafting, and case management software. A strong writing sample and a faculty or internship supervisor reference can give you a real edge.
Which companies hire entry level family law paralegals?
Companies hiring entry level family law paralegals right now include Jobot and CENTRAL CALIFORNIA LEGAL SERVICES, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At this level, boutique family law firms, legal aid organizations, and mid-size general practice firms with active domestic relations departments tend to post the most new-grad-friendly openings.
Are there remote entry level family law paralegal jobs?
Yes, though most openings at this level skew on-site because new paralegals benefit from in-person supervision and court-adjacent work. About 0% of entry level family law paralegal openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with hybrid schedules appearing most often at larger practices that have already built out remote workflows for document review and client communication.
Are these new grad family law paralegal jobs?
Yes. These listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior family law paralegal roles specifically. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship or clinic work in place of paid employment, or lists a paralegal certificate as sufficient alongside relevant coursework. Look for language like "entry level," "no prior experience required," or "will train" to confirm the role suits a new grad candidate.
Which industries hire the most entry level family law paralegals?
Entry Level family law paralegal roles concentrate in Staffing & Recruiting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors generate consistent demand at the entry level because they handle high volumes of divorce, custody, and support matters that require paralegal support for document preparation, client correspondence, and court filing coordination.
