Entry Level Policy Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level policy job?
Entry level policy employers look for candidates who can research, synthesize information, and communicate clearly in writing. A policy-focused internship, a senior thesis, or volunteer work with a government office or advocacy organization gives you a concrete edge. Tailoring your resume to show issue-area knowledge, such as healthcare, housing, or education policy, signals the subject-matter focus most hiring managers want at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level policys?
Companies hiring entry level policys right now include TikTok, Anthropic, and Stand Together Foundation, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Government agencies, nonprofits, think tanks, consulting firms, and large corporations with public affairs or regulatory teams are among the most active employers at this level.
Are there remote entry level policy jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles remain common at this stage. About 41% of entry level policy openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with many fully remote positions concentrated in research, communications, and program coordination functions where in-person presence is less essential for junior staff.
Are these new grad policy jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior policy roles. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or academic projects as qualifying experience, or explicitly invites candidates who are early in their careers. Checking for phrases like "no prior professional experience required" or "recent graduates encouraged" helps identify the most accessible openings.
Which industries hire the most entry level policys?
Entry level policy roles concentrate in Education, Government & Public Sector, and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to drive junior hiring because regulatory change, public funding cycles, and stakeholder engagement create ongoing demand for analysts and coordinators who can support policy development and implementation from the ground up.
