Exciting Opportunities at MSK: Finance and Royalties Manager – Tech Transfer Office

The Patent and Royalties Manager plays a critical role in protecting, managing, and maximizing the value of intellectual property generated through groundbreaking scientific research. This position partners with researchers, legal professionals, and business stakeholders to support the lifecycle of patents, licenses, and royalty-related activities that advance discoveries from the laboratory to real-world impact.

The successful candidate will oversee complex patent and royalty administration processes, ensure accuracy and compliance across intellectual property portfolios, and contribute to strategies that strengthen technology commercialization efforts. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external partners while supporting MSK's commitment to scientific excellence, innovation, and patient-centered outcomes.

Role Overview

• Manage operational activities related to MSK's patent and royalty portfolio, ensuring accurate administration of intellectual property assets.

• Oversee royalty reporting, revenue tracking, payment processing, royalty distributions, and related financial reconciliation activities.

• Review and interpret licensing agreements to ensure compliance with financial and reporting obligations.

• Monitor critical patent, licensing, and royalty deadlines and maintain accurate records within intellectual property management systems.

• Generate reports, analyses, and portfolio metrics to support strategic decision-making and technology commercialization efforts.

• Support audits and compliance reviews by maintaining organized documentation and responding to information requests.

Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, data integrity, and portfolio management practices.

Key Qualifications

• Experience working with patent docketing, intellectual property, licensing, or royalty management systems.

• Strong understanding of patent processes, intellectual property agreements, and royalty administration principles.

• Experience in accounting or bookkeeping either at a tech transfer office or law firm

• Experience analyzing financial data and preparing reports with a high degree of accuracy.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience working with complex datasets.

• Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday

• Location: Hybrid; Monday and Tuesday onsite with additional flexibility as needed; 633 Third Avenue, New York, NY

Pay Range: $102,800.00 - $164,500.00
