In this role, you’ll support financial reporting, and operational insights for practice areas and business functions. - Serve as a finance partner – Build strong relationships with business and practice leaders, helping them interpret financial performance and understand key drivers.
- Own compensation modeling – Prepare attorney year-end compensation estimates and detailed bonus components, which are based on a complex matrix calculation of hours, ratings, class year, special circumstances etc.
- Deliver executive-ready reporting – Prepare and enhance recurring management reports and dashboards for senior leadership.
- Advance reporting modernization – Translate manual reports into automated Power BI dashboards that improve accuracy, consistency, and visibility. Actively participate in/contribute to system and process re-engineering efforts; recognize/assess the downstream impacts of process changes.
- Drive process automation – Identify opportunities to streamline recurring FP&A workflows, leveraging tools such as Power Query, Power Automate, and other automation capabilities to reduce manual effort and accelerate reporting cycles.
- Enhance data integrity – Enhance process efficiency, support new initiatives, and/or more accurately reflect changing business elements.
- Improve operational efficiency – Recommend and implement process enhancements that simplify data preparation, reduce cycle times, and improve the scalability of our reporting environment.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field; with 3 to 5 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or business intelligence, ideally within a professional services or corporate environment.
- Ownership and initiative – A proactive approach to managing deliverables, improving processes, and elevating reporting clarity.
- Business partnership capability – Ability to communicate financial insights clearly and influence non-finance stakeholders.
- Power BI & data skills – Strong proficiency in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, Power Query) and experience with automation tools such as Power Automate or Alteryx is a plus.
- Analytical depth – Advanced Excel skills with experience preparing forecasts, models, and business insights.
- Process improvement mindset – Experience identifying inefficiencies and automating recurring reporting or analytical workflows.
- Detail orientation – Commitment to data accuracy, quality, and reliability.
- Modernization orientation – Interest in enhancing how financial data is delivered and consumed through automation and streamlined reporting.

Financial Analyst Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a financial analyst job in Chicago?
Focus your search on the Loop and River North, where Chicago's banks, insurance companies, trading firms, and corporate treasury departments concentrate their finance teams. Candidates who pair CFA progress with experience in financial modeling or FP&A move faster through hiring pipelines here. Networking through the CFA Society Chicago and targeting roles at mid-size commodity trading firms or regional banks gives you an edge that pure credentials alone do not.
Which companies hire financial analysts in Chicago?
Employers hiring financial analysts in Chicago right now include Google, Wells Enterprises, and Kraft Heinz, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's mix of global banks, insurance carriers, trading houses, and large corporate headquarters creates consistent demand for analysts across both financial services and non-financial industries.
Are there remote financial analyst jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though availability depends on the role: analytical and FP&A positions tend to offer more flexibility than trading-floor or client-facing analyst roles. About 33% of financial analyst openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with many employers offering hybrid schedules anchored to Loop or River North offices. Roles in corporate finance and financial planning tend to be the most remote-friendly in the Chicago market.
How can I get a financial analyst job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is landing a junior analyst or financial operations role at one of the city's mid-size insurance companies, regional banks, or corporate finance teams based in the Loop. Many Chicago firms hire entry-level candidates into rotational finance programs or AP and reporting analyst roles that build toward a full analyst title. A strong Excel skill set, exposure to financial modeling through coursework or personal projects, and CFA Level I candidacy all signal seriousness to local hiring managers.
Which industries hire the most financial analysts in Chicago?
The sectors hiring the most financial analysts in Chicago are Technology & Software, Food & Beverage, and Artificial Intelligence, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's role as a center for futures and derivatives trading, a major insurance hub, and home to the headquarters of large industrial and consumer companies creates layered demand for financial analysts well beyond traditional banking.
