The strongest path into forward deployed engineering in Seattle is through its cloud and enterprise software sector, where companies in South Lake Union and the broader Eastside corridor hire most actively. Candidates who combine deep technical fluency with customer-facing communication stand out here. Experience with large-scale deployments, systems integration, or solutions engineering at a Seattle-area tech or defense firm translates directly into these roles.
Which companies hire forward deployed engineerings in Seattle?

Seattle's hiring base skews toward large cloud platform companies, defense contractors with local offices, and fast-scaling enterprise software firms operating out of South Lake Union and the Eastside.
Are there remote forward deployed engineering jobs in Seattle?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on the role's hands-on requirements, since forward deployed engineering often involves on-site customer deployment and troubleshooting. About 65% of forward deployed engineering openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with remote options most common in the pre-sales and technical architecture phases of the work rather than active deployment.
How can I get a forward deployed engineering job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Seattle is a solutions engineer or technical support engineer role at a mid-size SaaS or cloud company in South Lake Union or Bellevue, where employers regularly hire candidates with strong fundamentals over years of experience. Building hands-on skills in cloud platforms widely used by Seattle employers, then targeting internal transfer programs at larger tech firms, gives early-career candidates a concrete local advantage.
