At Broadridge, we've built a culture where the highest goal is to empower others to accomplish more. If you’re passionate about developing your career, while helping others along the way, come join the Broadridge team.
Broadridge is seeking a Vice President, Forward Deployed Engineering — AI to lead the creation of high-value agentic AI capabilities across our business and client ecosystem. This role is for a senior builder with a background in engineering or technical product management who can combine strategic judgment, technical depth, and hands-on delivery leadership.
You will work directly with senior stakeholders to identify the opportunities that matter most, determine what is viable, and lead solutions from idea through production. You will help move Broadridge from experimentation to scaled impact—building reusable AI capabilities that improve how we operate, serve clients, and prepare for what comes next.
You will be an exceptional collaborator with strong conviction: someone who brings people together around ambitious outcomes, welcomes rigorous debate, and never settles for a merely adequate solution when a better one can be built.
What you will lead
- Identify and shape the most consequential AI opportunities across Broadridge, working directly with senior business leaders, clients, product teams, and technology organizations.
- Establish a rigorous but fast-moving approach to use-case assessment: strategic importance, value potential, customer impact, data readiness, feasibility, integration complexity, risk, adoption, and production viability.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of agentic AI solutions, from discovery and architecture through proof of value, production implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Personally engage in critical solution and architecture decisions, while building and leading multidisciplinary teams capable of rapid, high-quality execution.
- Create solutions that combine models, agents, tools, enterprise data, workflow automation, human review, and user experience in ways that solve material business problems.
- Set a high bar for evaluations, reliability, security, observability, controls, and operational ownership so that successful work can scale with confidence.
- Determine when a solution should become a reusable platform capability, product feature, shared service, client offering, or targeted workflow deployment.
- Build repeatable delivery patterns that materially shorten the path from use-case idea to measurable value and, where warranted, production deployment.
- Influence AI platform, model, framework, and vendor strategy using evidence from real deployments, adoption, and client or business outcomes.
- Attract, develop, and inspire a community of high-caliber builders across engineering, technical product management, design, data, and operations.
What you bring
- Senior leadership experience in AI engineering, software engineering, technical product management, data platforms, or technology delivery.
- A demonstrated record of building and scaling complex, customer-facing, enterprise, or platform capabilities from early concept through sustained adoption.
- Deep technical fluency in modern software architecture, APIs, cloud platforms, enterprise integration, data systems, security, reliability, and operational delivery.
- Strong working knowledge of generative AI and agentic AI design, including model selection, retrieval, tool use, orchestration, evaluations, guardrails, monitoring, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Exceptional product judgment: the ability to distinguish a compelling AI demonstration from a solution that is valuable, viable, reliable, adoptable, supportable, and ready to scale.
- Experience making investment and prioritization decisions in environments with competing customer, business, technical, and control requirements.
- The ability to lead through influence and build trust with executives, clients, business leaders, engineers, product managers, risk partners, and front-line users.
- An exceptional collaborative leadership style: brings people into the work early, listens deeply, values healthy debate, and creates alignment across functions without sacrificing pace or accountability.
- Strong conviction and a clear point of view; able to make difficult decisions, challenge assumptions constructively, and be persuaded by stronger evidence.
- A refusal to settle for mediocrity, incrementalism, or solutions that are merely adequate; consistently raises the bar on ambition, technical rigor, user experience, and measurable business impact.
- The ability to create momentum through clarity and credibility—not by forcing consensus—so that teams understand the path forward and are motivated to execute at a high standard.
- A record of recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing technical and product talent.
- The confidence to stop low-value work early, simplify complexity, and drive decisions when ambiguity is high.
Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between $210k-$260k. Broadridge considers various factors when evaluating a candidate's final salary including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.

Tips for Your Forward Deployed Engineering Job Search
Quantify customer impact on your resume
Forward deployed engineers are hired for outcomes, not just technical skills. Replace vague descriptions with concrete results: how many enterprise accounts you supported, how fast you reduced deployment friction, or how much implementation time you cut.
Highlight client-facing technical communication
Hiring managers screen for engineers who can explain complex systems to non-technical stakeholders. Add examples to your resume where you translated architecture decisions or debugging processes into plain language for customers or executives.
Target companies deploying new product lines
Forward deployed roles spike at companies launching into new verticals or scaling onboarding. Filter openings by companies that recently raised funding or announced enterprise expansions, since those teams are staffing up deployment capacity first.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists forward deployed engineering openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare a deployment war story for interviews
Interviewers almost always ask for a specific example of a difficult customer deployment you owned end to end. Prepare one story that covers the technical problem, how you communicated with the customer under pressure, and how you resolved it.
Negotiate scope before accepting an offer
Ask what the ratio of proactive customer work to reactive firefighting looks like before you sign. Forward deployed roles vary significantly in how much time you spend on new deployments versus troubleshooting existing accounts, and that gap affects day-to-day satisfaction.
Forward Deployed Engineering Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most forward deployed engineers?
The companies hiring the most forward deployed engineers right now include Databricks, Deloitte, and Boston Consulting, with the largest share of openings in California, New York, and Texas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Enterprise software, AI infrastructure, and defense technology companies consistently post the highest volume of these roles.
How many forward deployed engineering jobs are remote?
About 58% of forward deployed engineering openings are fully remote or hybrid as of September 2026, though a significant portion require travel to customer sites. Roles focused on technical account management and post-sale integration tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while deployment-heavy positions often require on-site presence during critical implementation phases.
How do you become a forward deployed engineer?
Start by building a foundation in software engineering or systems administration, then move into a customer-facing role such as solutions engineering or technical support. Develop the ability to run deployments independently, communicate architectural trade-offs to non-engineers, and own customer outcomes end to end. A portfolio of successful enterprise implementations carries more weight than any single credential.
Can you get hired as a forward deployed engineer with little experience?
Yes, but you need to show customer-facing problem-solving rather than just coding ability. Roles labeled associate or junior forward deployed engineer exist at companies scaling their deployment teams. Highlight any experience managing external stakeholders, leading technical onboarding, or troubleshooting production issues under pressure, even from internships, support roles, or freelance projects.
What does the forward deployed engineering interview process look like?
Most hiring processes include a recruiter screen, a technical assessment covering APIs or scripting, a system design or architecture discussion, and a customer scenario round where you walk through how you would handle a difficult deployment. Final rounds often involve a panel with both engineering and customer success stakeholders who evaluate your communication style alongside your technical depth.
Where can I find and apply to forward deployed engineering jobs?
You can find and apply to forward deployed engineering jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience and location preferences, then apply directly to each one that fits.
