Senior Solutions Engineer Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior solutions engineer in Washington?
Most senior solutions engineers in Washington reach the role through a combination of a technical bachelor's degree and several years of hands-on experience in software engineering, technical account management, or pre-sales consulting. Washington has no state-issued license for this role, so employers focus on demonstrated platform expertise, a portfolio of complex deals or implementations, and familiarity with the cloud and enterprise software ecosystems dominant in the Puget Sound region.
How much do senior solutions engineers make in Washington?
Senior solutions engineers in Washington earn a median of about $147,620 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $95,490 for the lowest 10% to over $175,990 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior solutions engineers in Washington?
Employers hiring senior solutions engineers in Washington right now include Amazon Web Services, Amazon, and Okta, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Washington's concentration of global technology headquarters and regional cloud and enterprise software offices makes it one of the most consistent states for steady senior solutions engineer hiring volume.
Which Washington cities have the most senior solutions engineer jobs?
Seattle, Bellevue, and Washington have the most senior solutions engineer openings in Washington. Seattle and Bellevue drive the largest share because they host headquarters and major offices for enterprise technology companies, while Redmond's concentration of Microsoft campuses generates consistent demand for technical customer-facing roles across product lines.
Are there remote senior solutions engineer jobs in Washington?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 46% of senior solutions engineer openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on virtual product demonstrations, video discovery calls, and digital proof-of-concept work. The parts of the role most likely to remain fully remote are pre-sales technical consulting and solution design, while enterprise implementations involving on-site configuration tend to require some in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a senior solutions engineer in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior or associate solutions engineer role at a Washington-based technology company, which typically requires a technical degree but accepts candidates without enterprise sales experience. Large Washington employers like Microsoft and Amazon run rotational and new-graduate programs in technical and customer-success tracks that feed into solutions engineering. Transitioning from a software developer, technical support engineer, or customer success manager role is common, and an AWS or Azure certification gives candidates a meaningful edge.
Where can I find and apply to senior solutions engineer jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to senior solutions engineer jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current Washington openings across Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, and the broader state. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
