In this role, you will translate business needs into scalable, supportable technical solutions across a broad technology ecosystem. This is a broad solutions engineering role with responsibility across solution design, architecture, implementation, vendor collaboration, and ongoing partner success. Texas employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering. How much do senior solutions engineers make in Texas?
Senior solutions engineers in Texas earn a median of about $130,610 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $78,730 for the lowest 10% to over $201,850 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior solutions engineers in Texas?
Employers hiring senior solutions engineers in Texas right now include ENTRUST Solutions, NVIDIA, and Cognite, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major telecommunications carriers, and enterprise software campuses means demand is consistent across both established corporations and high-growth technology companies operating in the state.
Which Texas cities have the most senior solutions engineer jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston have the most senior solutions engineer openings in Texas. Austin's dense technology company base and Dell's headquarters drive a large share of postings there, Dallas draws heavily from financial services and telecom firms clustered in the Metroplex, and Houston's energy sector and large enterprise accounts generate steady demand for engineers who can bridge technical and commercial conversations.
Are there remote senior solutions engineer jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. Solutions engineering is a desk-anchored, client-facing role conducted largely through video calls, demos, and digital collaboration tools, which makes remote work structurally compatible with the job. About 38% of senior solutions engineer openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how broadly Texas employers have adopted flexible arrangements for this role. Discovery calls, proposal work, and proof-of-concept builds are the parts most commonly done fully remote.

The most realistic entry path is a junior solutions engineer, associate sales engineer, or technical account manager role at a Texas-based technology company. Dell Technologies and AT&T both run structured early-career and rotational programs in Texas that move candidates from support or inside sales into pre-sales engineering over time. A strong proof-of-concept portfolio, an AWS or Azure associate certification, or experience in customer-facing technical roles such as implementation consultant or technical support engineer can substitute for direct solutions engineering experience when applying to these programs.
