Solutions Architect Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a solutions architect manager in Texas?
The path to a solutions architect manager role in Texas runs through a combination of technical depth, architecture experience, and team leadership. There is no state-issued license required in Texas for this role. Most hiring managers expect a background in solutions architecture, systems engineering, or technical pre-sales, followed by a progression into team lead or principal architect responsibilities. Cloud certifications from AWS, Microsoft, or Google carry significant weight in the Texas market, particularly in Austin and Dallas where cloud-native employers concentrate.
How much do solutions architect managers make in Texas?
Solutions architect managers in Texas earn a median of about $133,310 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $70,110 for the lowest 10% to over $191,800 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire solutions architect managers in Texas?
Employers hiring solutions architect managers in Texas right now include Amazon Web Services, Amazon, and Apple, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's density of enterprise technology headquarters, defense contractors, and large financial institutions means demand for this role is distributed across multiple sectors rather than concentrated in a single industry.
Which Texas cities have the most solutions architect manager jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston lead Texas for solutions architect manager openings. Austin's concentration of cloud, SaaS, and semiconductor companies drives volume there, while Dallas benefits from its large base of enterprise software, telecom, and financial services employers, and Houston's energy technology and healthcare IT sectors create consistent demand for architecture leadership roles.
Are there remote solutions architect manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most management roles, because solutions architect work is heavily client-facing, presentation-driven, and systems-focused rather than tied to a physical facility. About 58% of solutions architect manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the role's natural compatibility with distributed teams. The portions of the role most likely to stay remote are internal team oversight, architecture reviews, and vendor negotiations, while major client engagements often require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a solutions architect manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is to first establish yourself as a strong individual contributor in a solutions architect, pre-sales engineer, or senior systems engineer role at a Texas-based technology employer. Companies such as Dell Technologies, NTT Data, and Rackspace Technology, all with significant Texas footprints, regularly hire associates and senior architects from whom they develop managers internally. Building a portfolio of complex enterprise engagements, earning a cloud certification, and volunteering to lead small architecture pods or mentor junior architects positions you for the step into management without requiring prior direct reports.
Where can I find and apply to solutions architect manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to solutions architect manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries and metros. Find the roles that fit your experience and specialization, then apply directly to the employer through the listing.
