Regional Director Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a regional director in Texas?
Most regional directors in Texas move into the role after several years in district management, operations management, or a senior individual-contributor role in their industry. Texas does not require a state-issued license for the general regional director title, though healthcare-specific variants may require an active Texas licensure through the relevant board. A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is the standard baseline, and an MBA strengthens competitiveness for senior openings at large Texas employers.
How much do regional directors make in Texas?
Regional directors in Texas earn a median of about $134,390 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $78,050 for the lowest 10% to over $220,370 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire regional directors in Texas?
Employers hiring regional directors in Texas right now include IDEA Public Schools, DaVita, and Fivetran, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, large healthcare systems, and national retail chains means regional director pipelines tend to be deep and recurring rather than one-off replacements.
Which Texas cities have the most regional director jobs?
Houston, Dallas, and Austin have the most regional director openings in Texas. Houston's energy, healthcare, and logistics sectors drive the volume there, Dallas attracts corporate headquarters and financial services employers, and Austin's fast-growing tech and consumer-brand presence has steadily added regional management roles over the past several years.
Are there remote regional director jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're less common than for purely desk-based roles, since regional directors are typically expected to visit sites, manage on-the-ground teams, and represent the company in their territory. About 26% of regional director openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those tend to cluster in industries like software, insurance, and financial services where site visits are periodic rather than daily.
How can I get hired as a regional director in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is stepping into a district manager, area manager, or operations supervisor role first, then building toward a regional director promotion from within. Large Texas employers like HCA Healthcare, H-E-B, and major logistics operators run structured management development and assistant general manager programs that are designed for candidates without prior regional-level experience. A relevant bachelor's degree, demonstrated P&L ownership at any scale, and a record of leading a team of at least five direct reports are the credentials that open the door fastest.
Where can I find and apply to regional director jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to regional director jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings in Houston, Dallas, Austin, and across the state. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the employers posting them.
