The ideal candidate is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt with a strong eye for detail and experience writing SOPs for non-technical users. A background in equipment rental, crane services, or industrial services is a strong plus. The role includes mentoring from senior IT and business leaders.
Key responsibilities
- Document current-state processes end-to-end by shadowing and interviewing users at branches, yards, and the corporate office
- Build process maps and swimlane diagrams showing handoffs, approvals, and system touchpoints
- Work with IT and system specialists to learn how our business systems are set up and used
- Write step-by-step SOPs, work instructions, and quick-reference guides with screenshots, written for field and office users
- Test every SOP in the system to confirm it matches how the system works, and flag gaps to the team
- Apply Lean Six Sigma tools (SIPOC, process mapping, root cause analysis) to help identify waste, redundant steps, and control gaps.
- Document differences in how branches perform the same process and support efforts to standardize them.
- Summarize findings and recommendations for IT and business leaders in plain, business-friendly language.
- Maintain the SOP library: templates, version control, process owners, and review dates.
- Apply consistent formatting, naming conventions, and approval steps across all procedures.
- Collect user feedback and update procedures as systems and processes change.
- Support system testing by documenting test steps and recording issues found.
- Help create training materials — user guides, quick-reference docs, and video walkthroughs.
- Support the rollout of new and updated processes to branches and corporate teams.
