Senior Solutions Engineer Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior solutions engineer in Georgia?
Most senior solutions engineers in Georgia start with a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or information systems, then build experience in technical support, systems integration, or pre-sales roles. Georgia does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers in Atlanta's technology corridor typically promote candidates who hold vendor certifications from AWS, Cisco, or Salesforce and who have demonstrated success leading complex enterprise accounts.
How much do senior solutions engineers make in Georgia?
Senior solutions engineers in Georgia earn a median of about $98,840 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $72,580 for the lowest 10% to over $159,760 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior solutions engineers in Georgia?
Employers hiring senior solutions engineers in Georgia right now include Amazon Web Services, Honeywell, and The Home Depot, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's dense concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and regional technology campuses, particularly in the Atlanta metro, means large enterprise technology and fintech firms consistently account for the majority of openings.
Which Georgia cities have the most senior solutions engineer jobs?
Atlanta, Alpharetta, and Georgia have the most senior solutions engineer openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates due to its role as the Southeast's primary technology and financial services hub, while Alpharetta's established technology corridor hosts major software and networking employers, and Augusta draws openings tied to its growing cybersecurity sector anchored by federal and defense-adjacent contractors.
Are there remote senior solutions engineer jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than most technical fields. About 73% of senior solutions engineer openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on virtual product demonstrations, customer calls, and cloud-based technical work. Client-facing discovery sessions and on-site proof-of-concept engagements are the parts most likely to require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a senior solutions engineer in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a technical support or associate solutions engineer role at one of Atlanta's large enterprise software or cloud companies, where internal promotion tracks are well established. NCR Atleos, Salesforce, and Cisco's Georgia operations regularly hire associate or junior pre-sales engineers from candidates with a relevant degree and a vendor certification such as AWS Cloud Practitioner or Cisco CCNA. Building a portfolio of technical demos or proof-of-concept projects and pursuing a recognized cloud or networking certification gives candidates a measurable edge over those relying on degree credentials alone.
