Position Overview
As a Regional Manager – Foundations, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for foundation and civil construction operations across a defined geographic region.
You will be responsible for P&L performance, project execution, team leadership, and client relationships, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably. This role oversees multiple project teams and Project Managers while driving consistency, performance, and growth within the foundations business.
This position is ideal for a proven leader with deep expertise in foundation construction methods, power delivery infrastructure, and field operations management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of foundation construction operations across multiple projects and locations
- Manage regional P&L performance, including revenue growth, cost control, and profitability
- Lead and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership teams
- Ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
- Oversee project planning for foundation and civil scopes, including:
- Drilled piers and caissons
- Driven piles and micropiles
- Structural concrete and spread footings
- Direct embed and anchor systems
- Sitework, excavation, and access roads
- Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams to support bid strategy and project pursuit
- Build and maintain strong client, subcontractor, and partner relationships
- Identify and mitigate operational risks, constructability challenges, and geotechnical constraints
- Drive resource planning, workforce development, and equipment utilization across the region
- Promote and reinforce Michels’ safety-first culture at all levels of the organization
- Support strategic initiatives, growth planning, and continuous improvement efforts

What it takes?
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 10–15+ years of progressive experience in construction, with a strong background in foundation, civil, or power delivery projects
- Proven leadership experience managing multiple project teams, regions, or business units
- Deep knowledge of foundation construction methods, including:
- Drilled shafts / piers
- Driven piles and micropiles
- Structural concrete and site civil work
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and P&L performance
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, develop talent, and drive operational excellence
- Experience with project management and scheduling tools (Primavera, HCSS, or similar)
- Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Willingness to travel extensively and support regional operations and project sites

$150,000 - $230,000 USD
