NVIDIA has been pioneering accelerated computing for more than two decades—from the invention of the GPU to breakthroughs in AI, high-performance computing, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and gaming. Our Emulation Infrastructure team builds scalable hardware development platforms and compilation flows that enable pre-silicon validation of NVIDIA’s most complex designs.
We are now looking for a Emulation Front-End Infrastructure Engineer to join our team onsite in Santa Clara, CA.
What you’ll be doing:
Own and evolve front-end compilation, synthesis, and flow infrastructure for NVIDIA hardware emulation platforms.
Develop, maintain, and automate robust compilation and synthesis flows using scripting and industry-leading EDA tools.
Run, analyze, and debug regular compilation and synthesis regressions; help maintain RTL design stability in close partnership with logic designers.
Explore and apply AI techniques to improve flow automation, triage compilation failures, identify recurring failure patterns, and accelerate root-cause analysis.
Evaluate, deploy, and support EDA tools and methodologies for front-end implementation and emulation compilation.
Diagnose complex compilation, elaboration, synthesis, and implementation issues, working closely with internal design teams and EDA vendors.
Improve flow performance, reliability, scalability, usability, and observability across a large-scale hardware development environment.
What we need to see:
A BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years of relevant experience; or an MS degree in a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with RTL compilation, synthesis, front-end design implementation, and flow automation.
Working proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog, including the ability to read, debug, and modify RTL for emulation needs.
Strong understanding of RTL elaboration, synthesis, logic optimization, and front-end design methodologies.
Hands-on experience with front-end synthesis and compilation EDA tools, including Synopsys Design Compiler, ZeBu Compiler, and Cadence HDL-ICE.
Strong automation and scripting skills in Python, Perl, Tcl, shell scripting, and Makefile-based flows.
Experience running high volumes of jobs on distributed compute farms using workload schedulers such as LSF or Slurm, and using revision-control systems such as Perforce or Git.
Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Experience with hardware-emulation compilation flows and runtime bring-up or debugging is a plus!
Deep expertise with Synopsys Design Compiler, ZeBu Compiler, and Cadence HDL-ICE.
Experience building scalable regression, reporting, monitoring, and flow-debug infrastructure.
Experience building AI/LLM agents or automation that can classify tool logs, diagnose failures, and drive automated recovery.
Experience partnering directly with EDA vendors to resolve complex tool, methodology, or performance issues.
NVIDIA is widely recognized as one of the technology industry’s most desirable employers. Join NVIDIA’s Emulation Infrastructure team to build scalable, reliable compilation flows that enable pre-silicon validation and accelerate innovation across AI, robotics, autonomous driving, gaming, and high-performance computing.

Frontend Engineer Jobs in Santa Clara: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a frontend engineer job in Santa Clara?
Start by targeting Santa Clara's dominant hiring sectors: semiconductor and chip design companies, enterprise SaaS platforms, and consumer electronics firms headquartered around the Great America Parkway and Central Expressway corridors. Candidates who demonstrate experience with component-based frameworks like React or Vue, strong performance optimization skills, and cross-functional collaboration with hardware or embedded teams stand out in this market. Building a portfolio that reflects complex, data-heavy interfaces gives you a concrete edge locally.
Which companies hire frontend engineers in Santa Clara?
Employers hiring frontend engineers in Santa Clara right now include Palo Alto Networks, SiFive, and FujiFilm, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Santa Clara's employer mix leans heavily toward established technology corporations and semiconductor companies with large product and platform engineering teams, alongside a steady layer of mid-size SaaS and cloud infrastructure firms.
Are there remote frontend engineer jobs in Santa Clara?
Yes, frontend engineering is among the more remote-compatible technical roles since the work centers on code, design systems, and browser-based tooling rather than on-site hardware. About 10% of frontend engineer openings tied to Santa Clara are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting both company policy and the nature of the discipline. Product and platform frontend roles tend to be the most remote-friendly, while roles tied to embedded UI or hardware-adjacent interfaces more often require in-person collaboration.
How can I get a frontend engineer job in Santa Clara with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Santa Clara is targeting mid-size SaaS and cloud infrastructure companies in the Mission College and Great America Parkway areas, which hire associate and junior frontend engineers more regularly than the large semiconductor firms. Contract-to-hire roles, QA-to-frontend transitions, and UI-focused internships at Santa Clara's established tech campuses are practical on-ramps. A portfolio of deployed projects using React or Vue, even personal or open-source work, consistently matters more than years of experience in this market.
Which industries hire the most frontend engineers in Santa Clara?
Santa Clara frontend engineer roles concentrate in Science & Research, Agriculture & Farming, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Santa Clara's position as a global hub for semiconductor design, enterprise infrastructure software, and consumer electronics drives sustained frontend hiring across those sectors, where complex data visualization, device interfaces, and large-scale web applications keep engineering teams in consistent demand.
