About Sprig
Sprig is the customer survey platform, rebuilt around AI agents. For two decades, teams have relied on Qualtrics, Medallia, and SurveyMonkey to understand their customers. These platforms were built for a slower era, with manual setup, fragmented workflows, and insights that arrive too late to shape decisions. The gap between how fast products move and how fast research can keep up has never been wider. We're building something different. With Sprig, AI agents design studies, adapt surveys in real time, and turn responses into clear, actionable insight. Teams move from question to evidence in hours instead of weeks, without sacrificing rigor. Product teams no longer guess. They know. Our mission is to make deep customer understanding effortless and always on, so the best teams in the world can build products their customers love. Companies like Microsoft, DoorDash, Notion, Figma, Coinbase, and TripAdvisor use Sprig to stay close to their users. Backed by $85M from Andreessen Horowitz, Accel, and First Round Capital, we're growing quickly across the world's leading product organizations. The category is being rebuilt, with AI at the core. If you're excited by hard problems and the chance to define how modern teams understand their customers, we'd love to meet you.

Customer Engineer Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a customer engineer in California?
Customer engineering in California does not require a state-issued license, so the path runs through a technical degree and hands-on experience. Most employers look for a bachelor's in computer science, electrical engineering, or information systems, followed by experience in technical support, solutions architecture, or field engineering. Earning a platform certification from Google Cloud, AWS, or Cisco strengthens a candidacy significantly, and California's concentration of enterprise tech employers means those credentials carry real weight in the local market.
Which companies hire customer engineers in California?
Employers hiring customer engineers in California right now include Google, Apple, and Fastly, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. California's role as a hub for enterprise software, semiconductors, and cloud infrastructure means the hiring base stretches from large hyperscalers in the Bay Area to telecom and defense-adjacent firms in Los Angeles and San Diego.
Which California cities have the most customer engineer jobs?
San Francisco, Santa Clara, and Sunnyvale are the California cities with the most customer engineer openings. The Bay Area leads because of its concentration of enterprise software and cloud platform headquarters, while Los Angeles draws demand from media technology, aerospace, and large managed services providers, and San Diego's strong telecom and defense tech sectors generate consistent openings for hardware-focused and field customer engineers.
Are there remote customer engineer jobs in California?
Yes, though a meaningful share of roles still require on-site visits for installations, demos, or escalations. About 49% of customer engineer openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the mix of desk-based solutions engineering and hands-on field work the role involves. Pre-sales and cloud-focused customer engineer positions tend to be the most remote-compatible within the discipline.
How can I get hired as a customer engineer in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a technical support or associate solutions engineer role at a California-based technology company, where you build product knowledge and customer-facing skills before moving into a full customer engineer position. Large employers like Cisco, Google, and Oracle run new-graduate programs and rotational associate tracks out of their Bay Area and Southern California offices. A cloud platform certification from AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure combined with a portfolio of lab projects or internship work gives candidates without direct experience a concrete advantage in California's competitive applicant pool.
Where can I find and apply to customer engineer jobs in California?
You can find and apply to customer engineer jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to the California market. Find roles that fit your experience and specialization and apply directly from the listing.
