Mid Level Functional Consultant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level functional consultant job?
Lead applications with concrete examples of projects you owned from requirements through delivery, not just tasks you contributed to. Highlight your ability to translate business needs into system configurations, communicate with stakeholders independently, and resolve issues without escalating every decision. Certifications in the relevant platform, such as SAP, Salesforce, or Oracle, strengthen your candidacy, and any experience guiding junior analysts signals the ownership mindset hiring managers look for at this level.
Which companies hire mid level functional consultants?
Companies hiring mid level functional consultants right now include Rheem Manufacturing, Deloitte, and Erlanger, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of large enterprise consulting firms, systems integrators, and mid-size technology companies building out their internal ERP or CRM practices.
Are there remote mid level functional consultant jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by platform and client requirements. About 37% of mid level functional consultant openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the strong demand for consultants who can manage client relationships and system configurations without being on-site full time. Implementation phases tied to go-live milestones may still require periodic travel even in otherwise remote roles.
How do I move up to a mid level functional consultant role?
Reaching mid level means demonstrating that you can own a deliverable, not just support one. Over your first few years, focus on completing at least one full implementation cycle, taking responsibility for a module or functional area, and building a clear record of translating business requirements into working system solutions. Platform certifications and the ability to run client workshops without supervision are the signals that distinguish a mid level consultant from an analyst or associate.
Which industries hire the most mid level functional consultants?
Mid Level functional consultant roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Manufacturing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to run large-scale ERP, CRM, or supply chain platform rollouts that require experienced consultants who can manage a workstream independently and work directly with business stakeholders.
