Job Description
The Staff Accountant is expected to perform daily accounting and financial tasks with the goal of supporting the company’s operations under the supervisor of the Controller. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for posting transactions and assisting in maintaining, preparing, and reconciling accounts and other financial documents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reconcile general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.
- Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts.
- Provide support for accounting and financial processes to include accounts payable, purchasing, accounts receivable, and payroll systems.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes including accruals and adjustments.
- Assist multiple project managers and staff daily.
- Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned.
- Create requested reports to increase efficiency in the accounting department.
- Assist with upload reports for job costing, including but not limited to timecards, allowances, expenses incurred with Home Depot and Lowes’ credit cards, among others.
- Develop expertise in using Concur’s reporting tools to disseminate information to Controller and Chief Financial Officer.
- Perform special projects as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or financial support role.
- Construction industry experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills with the ability to actively listen and effectively understand concerns.
- Proficient in MS Office Professional.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices (e.g. Job Cost Accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, purchase orders, general ledger).
- Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize issues and monitor progress.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
