Job Description
Position Summary
The Preconstruction Engineer is responsible for supporting the Preconstruction Team and their efforts. This person will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of complete and accurate proposals on various types of construction projects. The Project Engineer is expected to develop and maintain relationships with the internal team members, clients, design partners and subcontractors to support the company's success and growth. This position is in-office and will be in Charlotte, NC.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review project information/client criteria
- Perform quantity take-offs
- Assist in developing cost estimates
- Solicit, review and tabulate proposals from vendors, suppliers and subcontractors
- Begin developing skills to conceptualize designs and estimates on limited information
- Assist in developing schedules, clarifications, drawings and other proposal documents
- Assist with assessing potential risks and establishing contingency plans
- Assist with other duties as assigned

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, business/finance or related field of study is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills. Communicates clearly and consistently with customers & team members.
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to change. Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform well under pressure.
- Possesses attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic; able to perform in both independent and team-oriented environments.
- Builds effective relationships with co-workers, architects, engineers, subcontractors and clients.
- Demonstrates professional credibility, integrity, resilience, and commitment.
- Demonstrates initiative and accountability; able to excel with appropriate supervision.
