Global Servicing (GS) is responsible for the company’s customer service, credit, and fraud operations serving consumers, commercial clients, and merchants around the world, as well as global consumer travel and lifestyle servicing. Additionally Global Servicing (GS) provides the world’s best customer experience every day by building on Amex’s 175-year legacy of service excellence, leveraging new technologies and capabilities to drive innovation, and bringing a human touch to each customer interaction.
The Summer Internship Program sits in the Business Strategy team of Global Servicing, the heart of American Express’s global operations and part of the company's largest division. Successful interns can receive an offer to return to a 2-year Rotation Program, a career acceleration platform that combines business-critical project work, tailored learning experiences, and direct exposure to senior leaders. Whether through broad cross-functional rotations or a more specialized track aligned to specific skills the program acts as a launch pad for a successful long-term career at American Express.
Required Qualifications
- Current graduate students enrolled in a Masters or MBA degree program
- (e.g., Risk/Compliance/Governance, Data/Analytics, AI/GenAI, Finance, Strategy/ Innovation/Transformation, Behavioral Science/Customer Insights)
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028 for master’s or MBA degree candidates.
- A minimum of 3+ years of professional experience, with a proven track record of success and increasing responsibility in management or specialized roles
- Commercial experience, academic knowledge and aspirations to grow their career with a top employer of choice.

- Excellent communicator, able to simplify and explain complex concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; experienced in both qualitative and quantitative analysis
- Proven project management skills with a track record of driving business results and managing complex initiatives or large-scale projects
- Self-starter who demonstrates ownership, initiative and the ability to work with limited oversight
- Creative thinker who challenges assumptions and contributes fresh perspectives
- Curious, adaptable, open to feedback, and committed to lifelong learning
- Proficiency in analytical and presentation tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with SQL, Python and Power BI is a plus
- Demonstrated interest and passion for Financial Services, customer experience, payments innovation, technology trends, strategy, and business transformation
