Public Cloud Infrastructure team is looking for a strong candidate to join them in producing Virtual Machine Images and orchestrating distribution to thousands of subscribers in Public Clouds.
The role:
We build the automated platform that produces hardened, compliance-tested operating system images (AWS AMIs) for a large enterprise cloud estate. Every image our internal teams launch — across RHEL, Windows, macOS, and Amazon Linux — is created, customized, security-tested, and distributed by the systems this team owns, spanning multiple AWS regions and multiple environments. We maintain hundreds of image definitions and customization packages, including ARM/x86, GPU, and Kubernetes (EKS/ECS) node variants.
As a cloud infrastructure senior engineer, you'll set technical direction across two connected sides of the platform:
- Platform / Infrastructure — event-driven build pipelines using AWS Step Functions and Lambda, defined as Infrastructure as Code in CloudFormation, orchestrating the full image lifecycle from import through customization, testing, distribution, and decommissioning.
- Image customization & operations — the reusable packages, Ansible provisioning scripts, and compliance tests that define each image, delivered through a PR-driven, automated release pipeline.
What you'll do:
- Own and evolve serverless, event-driven build automation (Step Functions, Lambda, SNS, S3, EC2) that customizes machine images at scale.
- Lead Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation) that deploys consistently across many regions and accounts.
- Build and harden OS images for RHEL, Windows, macOS, and Amazon Linux, including GPU, ARM64, and Kubernetes node variants, to strict security and compliance standards.
- Raise the bar on code quality, test coverage, and CI/CD health; mentor engineers and lead technical reviews.
